Grooming Terms:

Please could you walk your dog before being groomed to allow them to go to toilet. Dogs can become fidgety and restless if they are being groomed and need to go to the toilet.
You will need to fill out a record card with your contact details, dogs and vets details on prior to your dog being groomed. You will also have to sign a disclaimer form.
We appreciate it if you could let us know if you dog is prone to being aggressive.
We will asses the dogs coat condition before grooming and discuss how you would like your dog to be groomed.
We accept no liability for any injury caused by aggressive or difficult dog behaviour.
We accept no liability for any health problem uncovered or irritated by the grooming process.
De-matting will occur an extra charge. (Please see our additional services page for prices).
Fleas - if your dog comes into us with fleas they will require a flea bath at an additional cost

Animal Welfare:

Our number 1 priority at Oh So Hairy is the welfare of your dog. It is a duty for us to ensure we take reasonable steps to meet the welfare needs of your dog. Whether that is to give your dog regular breaks during the groom, provide water at all times or to be in a comfortable stress free environment. We understand the importance of keeping your dog safe and happy.

In some cases we may come across a pre existing injury while doing a health check before the groom. First thing we would do is to notify you of the injury and for you to seek veterinary advice if needed.

Coat condition is very important, if your dog has a matted coat then it will require it to be removed either by brushing them out or in a severe case it will need to be cut out. Matting on a dogs coat can be very uncomfortable and painful for the dog and we at Oh So Hairy will always advise you on what is the best solution for grooming your dogs coat taking into consideration the Animal Welfare Act. The best way to prevent matting is to brush your dog on a regular basis, if you are unsure in what brush you need feel free to contact us.

Aggressive Dogs:

We understand that not all dogs like the whole grooming process. Our priority is to avoid the dog getting stressed and not only becoming a danger to itself but becoming a danger to the groomer. We believe that slowly introducing the grooming process can keep stress levels down and aggressive behaviour at bay. It may not always work and may take a few sessions for the dog to adjust to the grooming process. But if we feel that your dog is becoming too stressed and aggressive we will immediately stop grooming. We reserve the right to turn away a dog if they are showing signs of aggressive behaviour.

Female dogs in season:

Unfortunately we feel it's best not to groom a dog when they are in season as they become a little more sensitive to the grooming process and may become a little grumpy and stubborn.

Pregnant Dogs:

We do not groom pregnant dogs as the grooming process can become stressful for them and may cause risks to the pregnancy and welfare of your dog.

Cancellation:

Being a self employed small business we do solely depend on every appointment we have. If you have to cancel your appointment we do appreciate it if you can give us 48 hours notice so we then have a chance of filling your appointment. If we are given less then 48 hours notice you will incur a 50% charge of your groom which would need to be paid prior to your next appointment.

Mobile Van:

Oh So Hairy is a fully equipped salon on wheels. We do require a power supply from your property for us to plug into the van. Our cable is 25m long and we would also need a parking space outside your property.

Doggy Photos:

Oh So Hairy loves to show off all the wonderful dogs that comes through their doors and we appreciate it if we could take before and after photos of your dogs for our portfolio. Please could you let us know if you would not like your dog to be photographed.

Areas Covered:

Being mobile means we can cover a larger area, we are based in Crystal Palace and cover a 7 mile radius. Please see our areas covered page to see the list of locations we cater for. If you area is not on our list please feel free to contact us . In some cases we may be able to travel further afield but it would incur an extra charge.
